Speakers

"I apologize for being late" are five words that should never come out of the mouth of someone who is addressing an audience.

And yet, many speakers often arrive at their engagements late. While some situations can’t be avoided, there are things that a speaker can do in overcoming travel problems that threaten to delay the presentation of his remarks.

What are some of the things to remember about overcoming travel problems?

Among them:
ALWAYS overestimate the time needed to reach a location when traveling by car. A speaker should add at least an extra hour on top of the estimated time it will take him to reach a location where he is speaking to compensate for problems such as traffic. And there advantages to arriving early, which are discussed below
When traveling by plane, a speaker should guarantee he is booked on a flight that will arrive well in advance of his presentation. This is necessary to make sure he has ample time to arrive from the airport, check into a hotel if he staying over, and review the room where he is speaking

Along with overcoming possible travel problems as discussed above, success also demands knowing how to deal with situations that come out of nowhere such as flight delays, inclement weather or others. Overcoming travel problems in situations where a speaker has no control demands that he has contingency plans.

Contingency plans may involve having someone brief an audience on what he planned to share as a result of them having been previously provided with literature, advance copies of a speaker’s notes, information emailed to them, through a phone conversation, etc.

wall speakers

As with arriving for anything, there are also three arrival times for a speaker - early, on time, and late. And while on time or with only a few minutes to spare might be acceptable, one of the other arrival times is advantageous, while the other can lead to disaster:
-An early arrival provides a speaker time to check the room where he will be speaking, along with testing audiovisual equipment. It also allows him time to take care of any personal needs, relax, and - if he has arrived early enough -
review his comments one final time
-On the other time, a speaker who arrives late not only keeps an audience waiting, he eliminates the time he could have used for final preparations. Along with also not allowing him a chance to relax prior to his comments, a speaker who arrives late is far more likely to be in a frenzied state than even one who has arrived exactly on time

Overcoming travel problems can’t always be avoided. But there are times when they can. And there are still preparations that can be made to save the day in situations where they cannot be averted.

In Wall Sound Speaker

In-wall surround sound speaker is one of the different types of in-wall speakers. In-wall speaker are an ideal solution for those who want to enjoy music by keeping their speakers hidden. In contrast to conventional speakers, an in-wall speaker offers many benefits such as cost effectiveness, compatibility, easy installation, and flexibility. Further, it does not occupy any floor space and can be placed across any flat surface including ceilings. It is most suitable in multi-room settings. Other names for in-wall speakers are in-ceiling speaker and recessed ceiling speakers.

A recent addition in the field of in-wall speakers, in-wall surround sound speaker systems form a perfect match for your home dcor. The primary purpose of an in-wall surround sound speaker is to enhance home theater audio system, thereby providing non-intrusive enjoyment by keeping the speakers invisible. Its advantages, among many others, are high quality, outstanding performance, perfect sound, space saving, easy placement, sleek design, and versatility. In-wall surround sound speakers are most ideal in a home theater environment.

surround sound speakers

In-wall speakers with surround speaker system can be referred to as an audio system that involve the application of subwoofers, volume controls, cables, and two or more speakers including a rear speaker. Generally, surround sound speaker systems are available in two designs: monopole and bipole. Matrix sound and discrete sound are among the prime technologies employed for the performance of surround speaker system.

iLuv 9200 iPod Speaker System

When you want to combine your old favorite CDs with the latest iPod technology, a device like the iLuv 9200 iPod speaker system comes in very handy. iLuv call their product a "vertical audio system", as it features 4 CD bays on each side of the console. The CD bys have sliding doors created from transparent plastic, which ads well to the white surface of the iLuv 9200. The iPod docking station and the FM/AM radio bring the final touches to this interesting home entertainment option.

Although there is no subwoofer attached to the iLuv 9200 iPod speaker system, you do get the option of adding one via a dedicated output. The speakers can be wither placed on detachable stands or mounted on the walls. The speaker cord is long enough so you don’t have to worry about running out of it in larger rooms. The upper part of the iLuv 9200 iPod speaker system also houses the iPod dock. The dock is not visible when not in use and it also serves as a charger for your iPod.

iPod Speaker System

The system works well if you’re not after the best quality out there. The price is also on the budget side. The plastics and materials used to create it are ok, but the remote control is a bit too large. Some noise is heard when the CD doors are opening up, but other than that the iLuv 9200 iPod speaker system offers above average quality. The sound quality coming from the iLuv 9200 iPod speaker system is, however, very good. There is unnoticeable sound resonance and the device is prompt to answer remote control commands.

While the iLuv 9200 iPod speaker system is not packed with the latest in iPod technology and it has a few flaws that will probably annoy users every now and then, it is a device that delivers, for the kind of price it sells for (160 in the United Kingdom). Direct competitors of the iLuv 9200 iPod speaker system should also be looked at when shopping for this sort of home entertainment electronic device.

Auto Sound Systems

When building or upgrading an auto sound system, the first thing most people look into are the speakers. While speakers do play a very large role in the overall sound of your system, there are many other things that must be taken into consideration if you are going to avoid "over-speakering". It’s not necessary with modern technology and enclosures to take your entire trunk up with giant subwoofers to get that bone shakin’ bass you want.

The Head Unit
Good sound starts at the source. And in the case of auto sound systems, this source is the head unit. This is the CD player in your dash that actually provides the signals that the rest of your system amplifies and plays back. You can have the best speakers and amps in the world, but if you pair that with a cheap head unit with a lousy DAC, your sound will be lousy. In fact, with good speakers and amps, any shortcomings in your head unit will become glaringly obvious; the speakers will faithfully reproduce everything fed to them, including the hiss caused by a cheap DAC and op amps.

  car sound systems

The Amplifiers
Again, the best way to get killer sound is to start at the source and work your way to the output. After you have a good quality head unit that makes a clean audio signal, you need quality amplifiers to take this signal and push it still clean to your speakers. Cheap amps will often introduce noise into your signal, whether through lousy signal to noise ratios, or ground loop/alternator whine caused by poor internal or external grounds. Again, with good, speakers, any problems with your amplifiers will be very audible as your killer speakers faithfully reproduce every bit of the signal the amps provide - including any noise.

The Speakers
And finally, you should consider the speakers themselves. The biggest two things to remember are quality makes a huge difference, and bigger is not always better. If you listen to a lot of music with extremely fast bass hits, like techno, using 15" subwoofers will make your bass line muddy and indistinct. For this type of music, 10" or 12" is the largest subwoofer you want to push. If you listen to rap or other music with extremely low frequency and rhythmic bass hits, a 15" may be what you want. In all cases, mounting the speakers in a properly tuned bandpass enclosure will ensure the best quality sound.

The Speaker Enclosure
The sound you get out of the exact same speaker/amp combination will be very different depending on the enclosure you put it in. A simple sealed enclosure will provide a fairly neutral, flat response across the frequency curve of your speaker. A properly tuned bandpass enclosure can either help make up for a deficient area in your response curve, or amplify the frequencies you really want to add punch to.

While speakers are often the first thing considered when building an auto sound system, they really should be near the last on your list. Only after you have a quality head unit and amplifiers to drive them should you worry about your speakers. Even moving your current speakers into different types of enclosures can make an enormous difference in your sound quality.

How To Install A Car Amplifier And A Wiring Kit Effectively …

As long as you keep I.A.O.W in mind, installing a new sound system wiring kit can be as basic as fitting new rims or tires. Access practical points of view to auto loan calculator.

Indoor and Outdoor Wireless Speakers

Speakers are sound devices and primarily we focus on the quality of sound they produce. The wireless speaker is a multipurpose gadget that allows you to enjoy music inside as well as outside without the help of cables or wires.

The speaker in this case is charged and gives back up of eight hours, which should be enough at a time. If the speaker is being used indoors they can be connected to the mains directly and the added advantage is that you can also use these speakers without charge. The source of energy would be 5 AA batteries. Most of the wireless speakers are available in two bases so that it can be placed on any kind of surface. If it has a flat stand it can be used for hard surfaces but if it is being placed on grass, the spiked stand can be used. Wireless speakers also can be used with MP3 player that has an earphone socket and two transmission channels for better sound clarity. Extra speakers can be added and that can also receive audio from these transmission channels.

Indoor and Outdoor Speakers

Wireless Speaker System

Wireless speakers are "the" option for people who want to get rid of the unnecessary clutter of wires tangling here and there. As stated above they are convenient option for outdoor use as well. Moreover installing a wire less system is as easy as discussing about them. What the requirement is to just tune in the systems to the receiving speakers and then you actually escape all the hassle of a long, tedious process of installing a wired system. Since the home theater system is gaining on its popularity, the use of wireless speakers is becoming more and more evident and the reason is quite visible that none wants to take the pains of wiring the system and then navigating them across the room. There are two types of wireless speakers which are:

  • Infrared-In this case there is signal that travels to the speakers and anything coming between the source of the signal and the speaker obstructs it’s path and that leads to the sound breaking up.
  • Radio Frequency- In this case radio waves are used to transmit signals and since the signal can pass through objects on its way , some static might interfere with the sound , for an example the sound from a telephone.

This is when these speakers are being used inside the house but when they are being used outdoors the main impediment can be the "range" since most of the living rooms are not bigger than thirty or forty feet but then covering a distance of 90 feet to 100 feet is quite a challenge. There are specialized speakers that have ranges more than that but then don’t believe the manufacturer’s word. It is always better to test first since there are many factors that play a role when comes quality sound production like geographic location, any other electronic devices that might influence, building material and the house. When settings up wireless speaker outside consider a few other things as well like if the system is waterproof or not though it is advisable not to keep your system outdoors all the time. If you get a muffled sound do not worry, it is because of the weatherproofing. As technology is advancing wireless speakers are also being upgraded and are getting more and more cheaper as well as accessible. Nowadays the radio frequency systems use better transmitters and receptors to lessen the interference while the infrared systems have more than one transmitter to reduce the breaking up of sound. The quality of sound is also getting better. The sound quality might not satisfy an audiophile but then is versatile equipment.

Home Theater Speakers

The bass line is the backbone of any audio system. This article describes what bass sound is and why it is important to a home theater experience.

We all know what bass can do to a movie soundtrack. It can create drama, danger, even a feeling of strength depending on the visuals that go along with it. Bass is one of the most important elements of any audio format because it provides balance and contrast to the overall score of a movie, television show, even commercial. Quality bass in a sound system is impressive while not being overpowering.

In a 5.1 surround sound system, one of the most common for home theater installations, the ‘.1′ is the bass. The speaker for the bass sounds on a soundtrack is called a subwoofer. Lower frequency sound waves use a larger diaphragm to move the amount of air it takes to make these sounds. While smaller speakers can produce these lower frequency waves, they typically cannot produce the kind of quality that one would expect from a quality theater. Smaller speakers can often sound tinny when trying to produce these lower sounds. Large home theatre speaker towers are capable of handling this part of the soundtrack though it may require the reduction of sound quality from the mid and high range frequency speakers.

home theater stereo speakers

Choosing a good sound system with a quality bass speaker is not impossible, even for people who do not have a lot of experience. First, start with the subwoofer. Homeowners will need to consider whether they require a passive sub or an active woofer. A passive subwoofer does not need a separate power supply. Rather it uses power from the same amp that is driving the other home theater speakers. Volume from the amplifier can usually be controlled, there is less control overall with a passive sub. An active sub has a separate power supply. This means that the signal received from the amplifier/receiver is enhanced by the subwoofer itself, without taking any of the power from the other speakers.

Once you have your home theater subwoofer and other speakers picked out, lay them out to get the best sound from each. Bass sound is omni-directional, meaning that it goes out from the speaker in all direction. To decide where to place the subwoofer, put it in the same position that you will be sitting in, whether it is on the couch facing the television screen or in a home theater chair. Turn on a favorite film then move around your room and listen. Find the spot that the bass sounds best and move your subwoofer to that location. It can be set on the ground, on a shelf or off of a wall depending on where you feel the best low tone sound is heard. Since the sounds are going out and bouncing around the room in roughly the same direction, the sound should be great when you get it into place.

We’ve all heard the laments of mothers and fathers forced to deal with the incessant thumping and pounding of boom box bass lines from their adolescent’s car or room. There is something to say for the potential for this phenomenon to occur in a home theater as well. While walls, ceiling and floor will generally block high sound frequencies from leaving the room, they can actually increase the volume of the lower range sounds. While laying out your speakers, try to also find the right volume balance for all frequencies that your family can enjoy the sound quality a bass can provide without driving your neighbors crazy.

Wireless Outdoor Speakers

Wireless remote control cars and wireless phones are common these days. And now, here comes wireless outdoor speakers. It seems like manufacturers are doing away with anything wired these days. That’s maybe because wires can be a clutter at times. They tend to get damaged easily too. Have you counted the times when you have to ditch a speaker or two just because the wires got broken? Well, this is just one reason why wireless speakers are gaining popularity these days.

These devices may not be something highly technical. But they are the best additions to your home entertainment system. These devices were made for outdoor use. But they can be used inside the house too. Wireless outdoor speakers come with a compatible transmitter system. This transmitter is to be plugged into an audio device. It works with most audio players, including iPods, CD players, and even a TV. When switched on, the system would send a signal from the transmitter to towards the wireless speaker. This signal would travel through the air.

powered wireless outdoor speakers

Once the transmitter and the audio device are associated with each other, the system should work seamlessly. And you’ll get crystal clear and high quality sound from the speaker. Of course, the actual quality of the stereo sound would depend upon who created the speakers and the materials that were used for it.

Wireless outdoor speakers works within a certain range. Find out how far the transmitter’s signal would go to maximize its use. You can try to walk around the house with the speaker. Go outside and take a few steps until there’s no sound coming from it. That’s when you drop out of range. With these speakers, you can listen to your favorite music loud and clear. You don’t have to strain your ears listening to your iPod anymore.

Because the speakers are wireless, you can bring them anywhere you like. Take it on the garage, out in the porch, in the garden, or the garage. Share your favorite songs with your friends and neighbors. Now everybody can hear good music anywhere they want to.

With that, it becomes clear how wireless outdoor speakers can definitely make parties so much fun and exciting. Now, you can hold themed parties easily. Host the perfect bridal shower for your friend by compiling all her favorite songs and play it inside and outside the party area. You can even hold a barbeque party with a cowboy theme next. Just prepare a list of cowboy songs for your iPod and play it using the wireless speakers. Your party won’t get any better than that.

Bose 301 Speakers

Regardless of the system you own if the speakers are not good the best recording encoded on the storage device and played by amplifier will be awful. Bose speakers a brand recognized for great sound quality.

When you look for bookshelf speakers, what do you actually want? Good looking speakers? Or speakers that sound good? Or perhaps, both?

First consider how big your room is? If its small-to-medium in its dimensions, Bose 301 should work well in it, as dispersion of sound is a major factor in helping you decide on the best speakers.

These speakers are sold on the premise of "anywhere sound". In other words, you can enjoy the sound, equally, regardless of where in the room you are located.

Hence, you have to see whether there’s enough room to be able to position the speakers a little distance from the walls, so as to allow the music to "bounce".

They are a little larger than conventional bookshelf speakers, so don’t expect to actually place them, on your bookshelf. You may need to mount them on stands, insuring that they are at ear level, when you are in your normal listening position.

Coming back to sound quality, the stereo imaging of these speakers could be better, as it gets submerged, a bit, in the process of delivering "anywhere sound". However, these speakers are designed to be stand alone stereo systems, as opposed to many speakers, in the market, that are intended to add to existing systems. The bass is punchy, though a bit weak at lower frequency levels. Treble is a bit shrill, and the "retro look" of the speakers isn’t to everybody’s tastes. The paper cones in the speakers might displease the fastidious music buff.

For best effect, use a sub-woofer of 150 watts or over, and an amplifier that delivers 200 watts, per channel.

home speakers

The Bose brand is recognized all over the world. From an esthetic standpoint, these are not the most visually appealing speakers; however, they offer great value, given their moderate price tag, and the great sound quality they deliver.
